Meta Special Players is a FUT trading method that takes advantage of prices increase when these items go out of packs.
Can be used with Multiple Targets
No Gameplay Required
Can Clog your Transfer List
Requires Basic Market Knowledge
As you know, Ultimate Team is a FIFA game mode where you try to build the best squad possible using the players you like most. Basically, you try to find META players that will guarantee you as many wins as possible. You probably cannot afford the highest-rated players but there are plenty of popular meta cards that aren’t quite as expensive. Identifying those players is crucial in order to have success with this method.
META players are not always the highest-rated. Usually, META cards are the ones from the most popular leagues and nations, featuring a combination of stats that make them amazing in-game. That combination of stats can change for each position and can be affected by any gameplay changes in each patch. It’s important to note that meta in FUT is dynamic. You might think you know the cards people are using one week, but the next week they could be replaced by other ones.
Early in the FIFA game cycle there’s not many META options for people’s squads. Meaning players that are, always have a high value. The price of these META special players only go up when they go out of packs. Investing in them is a great way to make coins.
When using the META Special Players Method, the most common mistakes are the following ones:
Holding Players for Too Long
Never forget that while you’re waiting for prices to rise, you’re missing out on the opportunity to make more coins with other trading methods. Don’t hold your investment for too long expecting an even higher price rise.
Using It Later in the Game Cycle
You can use this method later in the game, but the profits will be smaller and players harder to identify. As the game cycle progresses there are more and more players released that fit the META.
STEP BY STEP
1 Choose your Targets
The first step is probably the most important. You need to know to identify any META items in new TOTW and promo team releases. Use your own FIFA gameplay experience paired with social media discussion to identify what the META is. Basically, they are the ones who perform better. Remember it’s not just about the player’s stats. Things like skill moves, height, and even links can make a player META. The key is to understand what the easiest way to win in FIFA is and identifying the players that help you do this most effectively.
Special items are available in packs for a limited time, usually one week, which is when you should buy them. The best time to pick up them is when the transfer market is flooded with these players: Mondays or Tuesdays.
Now, all you need to do is wait until these packs are out of packs. The supply will drop a lot but the demand for META players remains high as people build and improve their FUT squads.
After storing the players for a few weeks, you can finally sell them. The best days to do it are in the run-up to the Weekend League, in most cases. When listing these special items, price them slightly higher than the average value. You need to consider tax too, as on the transfer market, all sales are taxed at 5%. If they don’t sell, be patient. Card values are constantly fluctuating, so keep relisting and eventually, the market should go back up. If the market for the card does end up steadily dropping, you will need to drop the price by a bit, but don’t be too quick to do it.
“META players are not a myth anymore. There are players who perform better than others and, for that reason, everyone wants them on their teams. If you don’t know how to identify them, then this method is not suitable for you.”
