Stadium History
Stadion Miejski Legii Warszawa im. Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego is the municipal football stadium at Łazienkowska 3 and the historic home of Legia Warszawa. Football has been played on the site since 1930, but the current arena was constructed in phases between 2008 and 2011 while Legia continued to use part of the ground. Three rebuilt stands opened for the inaugural friendly against Arsenal on August 7, 2010, with the completed main stand following in 2011.
Designed by JSK Architekci, the 31,103-seat venue combines a modern two-tier bowl and membrane roof with the preserved historic façade of the former main stand. The north stand houses the celebrated Żyleta supporters’ section, while the complex includes a heated 105×68-metre natural-grass pitch, club museum, hospitality facilities and underground parking. Owned by the City of Warsaw and operated by Legia, it is one of Poland’s leading UEFA Category 4 football stadiums.
