Stadium History

The old Stadion am Böllenfalltor, opened in 1921, underwent several renovations over the decades, including new stands and floodlights. In 2014, significant upgrades were made, such as the removal of the athletics track and the construction of temporary stands, which later became the foundation for a new stadium.

The modernization of the stadium began in earnest in 2018 with the construction of new stands and an office pavilion. The final project included a new main stand, officially opened in December 2022, with the total cost of the renovation reaching around €50 million, partially funded by the city and the state of Hesse
