Stadium History
Chase Stadium is a soccer-specific venue in Fort Lauderdale that opened in 2020 on the former Lockhart Stadium site as the interim home of Inter Miami CF while Miami Freedom Park is built, with the city retaining ownership under a 50-year lease and the club handling construction and operations. The first match at the new ground occurred in 2020 with Fort Lauderdale CF, while Inter Miami’s first MLS home game at the venue came on August 22, 2020, against Orlando City SC, prior to naming rights changing to DRV PNK Stadium in 2021 and then to Chase Stadium on February 20, 2024. Expansion phases tied to surging demand around Lionel Messi’s arrival added corner seating in 2023 and further sections plus premium boxes in 2024, bringing capacity to 21,550 while maintaining the facility as the club’s headquarters and academy complex.
The complex spans approximately 34 acres with the 21,550-seat Chase Stadium oriented north–south, a 50,000-square-foot training center, and seven additional fields serving the MLS first team, MLS NEXT Pro side, and youth academy operations. Post-2024 upgrades include added corner sections, six “opera boxes,” nine “theatre boxes,” and other matchday enhancements, while transportation connectivity leverages proximity to I‑95 and dedicated partnerships like Brightline’s GOOOL Getter service for fans. The site functions as Inter Miami’s centralized hub for training and development, with facilities operated by the club under long-term agreement with the City of Fort Lauderdale.
