Stadium History
Opened in 1933, the stadium in Stuttgart’s NeckarPark was designed by Paul Bonatz and has served as the home of VfB Stuttgart. It was originally known as Adolf-Hitler-Kampfbahn, later becoming Century Stadium, Neckarstadion, Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion and Mercedes-Benz Arena before taking the name MHP Arena for the 2023/24 season. The venue has hosted major international football tournaments and landmark European club matches.
The stadium was converted into a football-only arena between 2009 and 2011. Further work included a roof renewal in 2017 and a complete redevelopment of the main stand from 2022 to 2024. Its current Bundesliga capacity is 60,058, with a 105×68-metre natural-grass pitch. The arena is owned by Stadion NeckarPark GmbH & Co. KG and operated by VfB Stuttgart Arena Betriebs GmbH.
